Taste Profile: floral, citrus, milk chocolate, hazelnut

Delicate florals and bright citrus open the cup, settling into a comforting warmth of milk chocolate and hazelnut sweetness. Medium body, medium acidity, and a clean, rounded finish - this is an everyday coffee that never feels ordinary.

Approachable across all brewing methods, it's particularly lovely as a filter or pour-over, letting its floral and citrus notes breathe.

Origin:

This coffee comes from CENFROCAFE, a cooperative of over 3,000 smallholder farmers in the Jaén region of Cajamarca, northeastern Peru - a high-altitude growing zone between 1,200 and 1,800 meters, near the Ecuadorian border. Founded in 1999 by just 220 farmers, the cooperative has grown into one of Peru's most respected coffee organizations, exporting green coffee to over 12 countries worldwide.

CENFROCAFE is far more than an exporter - it operates its own wet and dry processing mills, a roastery, a cupping lab, research programs addressing climate change, and even a member-owned savings cooperative offering credit to its farmers. The cooperative also runs Café Mujer, an empowerment program supporting women in coffee, represented in this lot by the Andina Coffee women's group.

Cherries are harvested between June and August from farms averaging just over 3 hectares, then processed using the fully washed method - pulped, fermented, and carefully dried - to produce a clean, expressive cup. This lot is certified organic (EU).

All our coffees are light roasted to preserve the character that the terroir and growing conditions bring to the fruit, showcasing every quality it has to offer. We recommend grinding fresh before each brew - but if you'd like us to do it for you, leave us a note at checkout with your desired coarseness.
