This coffee is produced by Boyce Harries on Chania Estate in Thika, Central Province, Kenya. The Harries family has been farming for five generations, making this one of the last remaining medium-sized farms in Kenya. Their coffee benefits from advanced water management systems utilizing the Karimenu and Chania Rivers, and they maintain a comprehensive seedling nursery for coffee and commercial exotic trees. Chania Estate is part of a direct partnership established by Belco since 2017, eliminating up to 7 intermediaries typically separating producers from buyers. The estate specializes in careful processing, with 18-hour fermentation periods and 14-day drying on raised beds.
