Profile: Black currant, caramel, with a quintessentially Kenyan character.

This coffee, sourced from the Thunguri Factory in Nyeri, Kenya, embodies the classic Kenyan profile, bursting with flavors of black currant and caramel. Grown at an altitude of over 1600 meters, this coffee benefits from the rich, volcanic soils and meticulous processing methods that have made Kenyan coffee renowned worldwide. The Thunguri Factory, managed by the Kibirigwi Farmers' Cooperative Society, receives cherries from over 1,095 smallholder farmers in the Karatina area. These farmers, each tending to 200-300 trees on average, are dedicated to producing high-quality coffee through careful handpicking, sorting, and washing processes. The cherries undergo a rigorous fermentation and washing process before being dried on raised beds, ensuring that only the finest beans make it into your cup.
