India, Karnataka, Attikan
Profile: Fruity (Grapes, Plum, Peach), Sweet (Vanilla sugar, Honey)
This coffee comes from the Attikan farm, which belongs to the Sangameshwar Coffee Estates group that owns four plantations in Karnataka state in the Western Ghats of India. Established during British colonization, the estate is now owned by KS Vaidyanathan, who is dedicated to advancing environmentally sustainable coffee production in India. The Attikan estate covers 138 hectares where coffee trees grow under shade and are nourished with natural fertilizers including cherry pulp, coconut fiber, manure, and whole fish. In addition to coffee, the farm also produces oranges. The plantation provides its employees with accommodation, medical facilities, childcare, and water supply. Three rounds of selective hand picking ensure a high percentage of quality parchment, and the Attikan farm has received numerous awards in the "Flavor of India Fine Cup Award" competition. With a cupping score of 85 and farm-level traceability, this coffee represents the excellence of Indian specialty coffee production.
